INFORMATION AND ELIGIBILITY
In the coming year of 2020 we will be featuring 20 photographers for the EMERGE competition. We are looking to give one $200 EMERGE Fellowship Award and exhibition opportunities to 20 emerging photographers. This fellowship opportunity is geared toward photographers looking to launch their art careers through the exposure of exhibition.
We feel strongly about providing this exhibition opportunity to emerging photographers. Professionally preparing a series of work, entering to galleries within the stated guidelines of gallery submissions and through subsequently building an exhibition record is a major and essential aspect of building a career in art photography.
Open to all emerging photographers nationwide in the USA. All photographic media is welcome; black & white gelatin silver prints, color c-prints, digital prints, alternative processes, etc...
Selection will be based upon the series of work submitted by each artist rather than solely on individual images. A brief artist statement is optional.
Selected artists will have their work featured in the exhibition and online. One recipient will be awarded the $200 EMERGE Fellowship Award, and receive one year artist representation by MWCP online.
To be considered for the EMEGE exhibition, instructions must be followed. To submit your photographs, select the number of images above and click "add to cart". Check out at the PayPal form.
PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NOT AN UPLOAD FORM, and you should simply Email your photographs to us at firstname.lastname@example.org in jpeg format: 72 dpi, no larger than 3000 x 3000 pixels. Name each file with your name and the corresponding number from the entry information below, last name first, then first name, then the image number, for example: smith_jane_1.jpg, smith_jane_2.jpg, etc...
List the information requested below in a single Microsoft Word document. When submitting your entry by sending us your email, attach your photographs and info document, then email to email@example.com. Please do not copy files into the body of the email and please send as an attachment, zip files are accepted. If you plan to submit your images using a file sharing program please do not set your files to expire before our selection date.
Provide the following information for each image submitted:
TITLE #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 etc...
MEDIUM (C-Print, silver print, ink jet print, etc...)
PRESENTATION (describe matting and framing)

NOTIFICATION OF SELECTED PHOTOGRAPHERS
Selected photographers will be posted online at www.mwcponline.com. Our group email will be sent with a list of names of selected photographers. Photographers who sumbitted must check this information for the list of names. Instructions for the exhibition will be sent to selected photographers via email. Please reply to the email to confirm participation in the exhibition.
All photographic works should be ready to hang on the wall for the exhibition, framed or mounted to sturdy substrate material. Please indicate if alternative presentation is required. We prefer to cut down on the amount of boxes shipped. MWCP offers printing and framing services, we also offer standard size rental frames, please see the services section of this website for pricing.
SHIPPING OF WORK
Exhibiting artists are expected to cover the round trip shipping costs for their work. Please ship the work in reusable packaging, please package the work in sturdy containers with plenty of cushion material. Include with your packaging the return shipping labels for the package, for example: Fed Ex or UPS pre-printed return shipping label, please allow ample time for return of packages.
ASSOCIATED FEES AND INFORMATION
Not all photographers who enter the call for entries will be selected for the exhibition, and photographers who are selected may not have all individual images chosen to be included in the exhibition. There is a 40% gallery commission for work sold. MWCP reserves the right to reproduce images for promotional and publication purposes, if necessary. If entry instructions are not followed the entry will not be considered for exhibition. Any work that is submitted with files set to expire before our selections date, when printed differs significantly from the entry, arrives at the gallery after the deadline, or is sub-standard quality will be disqualified from the exhibit. MWCP cannot be responsible for damage or loss during shipping. Photographers must provide the return shipment labels for their work, any work that is left at the gallery for a period of one year without shipping arrangements made will be donated to the MWCP Benefit Auction. Email addresses will be added to our email list. Entry fees are non-refundable, no exceptions.
