Nostalgia is often triggered by something reminding us of a happier time, a feeling of pleasure and also slight sadness when we think about the way things used to be. During this shifted current culture of time when we've all been adjusting to how extreme our world and lives have changed, we have encountered a new look at closeness. And through this experience we have looked back fondly and with longing and have therefore also opened up to a newfound appreciation for the simple pleasures in life and family. We are exhibiting photographs that show a form of nostalgia using various forms of image making including the snapshot aesthetic, images of how time is interpreted when thinking about things that happened in the past, memories that shape our lives. Nostalgia is an exhibition portraying the various interesting ways that we take photographs that elicit or display the binary of remembering and melancholy as a way to document memories, a wistful desire to return in thought to a former point in life, a somewhat sentimental yearning for the happiness of another place or point in time.
