INFORMATION AND ELIGIBILITY

Open to all photographers internationally.

In the academic world of reading, writing and arithmatic, the classic depiction of the "ABC's and 123's" enters our minds. A traditional challenge for emerging photographers is to put your eye for imagery to the test and go out in the world to shoot interesting compositions of unique found letter forms, whether it is captured from observing natural and manmade shapes, light and shadows or composed from interesting signage. So in an activity to keep your creative thinking sharp now and throughout the summer, go out with your camera and put your eye to the test and find where these hidden letters and numbers reside. In an exclusive selection by Guest Curator Ashley Gonzalez, one of each letter A - Z and number 1 - 9 will be chosen for this upcoming "Graphemes" exhibition held in September as classes resume in the fall. During this time when the subjects of reading, writing and arithmatic returns to our minds, this exhibition will represent the smallest meaningful contrastive unit in our writing system - specifically our native language, English.

Each photograph will be considered based upon the merit of individual images submitted by each artist. Theme based entries are not necessary. A brief artist statement is optional.

Selected artists will have their work featured in the exhibition and online.
