INFORMATION AND ELIGIBILITY

Open to all photographers internationally.

Our current state of awareness is deeply influenced by our experiences, interpretations and memories of the past. These experiences and our imagination shape our dreams, bringing our subconscious to an active state. Riding that fine line between sleeping and being awake, we can enter into a lucid dream state, able to gain various degrees of control over the dream narrative, simultaneously tapping into our creative mind. Whether our dreams present an uncanny similarity to our active daily lives and memories, are peaceful and pleasant experiences, or possibly our dreams are more of a nightmarish experience, we are most often perplexed by the recognition of this creative brain activity referred to as the dream state. Dreams will be an exhibition portraying the multitude of interesting ways that we take photographs that elicit or display the recollection of a dream state. Whether a photograph is produced to recreate the concept of a dream or if it is to represent what we have in our minds eye of our dreams for our future, we are looking to view your photographic work of your dream interpretations.


Each photograph will be considered based upon the merit of the individual images submitted by each artist, theme based entires are not necessary. A brief artist statement is optional. Selected artists will have their work featured in the exhibition and online.


SUBMISSION FORMAT

Fill out the Entry Form above, upload your .jpg images (name each image file with your last name and first name and the corresponding number entered on the entry form above, for example: smith_jane_1.jpg, etc...) and provide the information requested. Click submit and you will then click the payment link, you will be redirected to the payment page. Enter the USD amount for the quanitity of images you would like to enter ($50 for 5 images, $10 for each additional image) then select the number of images entered and check out. A confirmation email will be sent to your email address informing you of our receipt of your submission. If you prefer to use our older system to submit your images, simply email your .jpgs to us at info@mwcponline.org and click here to submit payment.

NOTIFICATION OF SELECTED PHOTOGRAPHERS

Selected photographers will be posted online at www.mwcponline.com. Our group email will be sent with a list of names of selected photographers. Photographers who submitted must check this information to see if their name is listed. Instructions for the exhibition will be sent to selected photographers via email.


EXHIBITION FORMAT

All photographic works will be printed to hang on the wall for the exhibition in standard size rental frames.


INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPATING PHOTOGRAPHERS IN THE EXHIBITION

Selected photographers must submit a high resolution JPEG file and MWCP will print your exhibition quality image for the exhibition at no cost to artists. Prints will be exhibited in standard size frames rented to exhibiting artists by MWCP for a $30 fee. Gallery frames are at various sizes to accomodate the artists photograph dimensions, the most common sizes are 11" X 14", 13" X 19", 14" X 21", 16" X 20" and 16" X 24" if rectangle depending upon proportion, and either 10" X 10", 16" X 16" or 20" X 20" if square. Final scale will be determined by gallery director. Photo copyright remains with the photographer at all times.


ASSOCIATED FEES AND INFORMATION

Not all photographers who enter the call for entries will be selected for the exhibition, and photographers who are selected may not have all individual images chosen to be included in the exhibition. MWCP reserves the right to reproduce images for promotional and publication purposes, if necessary. At the close of the exhibition, photographers have the option to purchase the print, or the framed print, less the rental fee and we will ship it to you. Remaining prints will be featured for sale in the gallery flat files for a period of one year. At the close of the one year period, prints will remain in the MWCP permanant collection, or discarded at the request of the photographer. Photo copyright remains with the photographer at all times. Frame rental fees must be paid in advance of the exhibition, artists who do not pay for their framing rental fees will be disqualified from the exhibition. Photographers must provide payment for shipment if purchasing their printed work, MWCP is not responsible for any shipping charges. Work is handled with professional care, MWCP cannot be responsible for damage or loss during shipping.There is a 50% gallery commission for work sold. In the event of a sale, the cost of the print and the frame will be deducted from the sale at our services pricing, less the rental fee. Any files for printing that differ significantly from the entry, arrive at the gallery after the deadline, or are sub-standard quality will be disqualified from the exhibit. Certain aspects of the exhibition may be subject to change due to unforseen circumstances. Email addresses will be added to our email list. Entry fees are non-refundable, no exceptions.
